The Waikoloa Beach Resort offers two amazing golf courses, the Waikoloa Beach Course and the Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
The Waikoloa Beach Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. This course features one of the most amazing holes on the Big Island of Hawaii and offers a lot of ocean frontage and views. The front end of the course is played weaving through the ‘a’a lava fields of the Waikoloa Beach Resort with the 6th, 7th, and 8th holes bordered by sacred Hawaiian petroglyphs. The back in of the course is played along the Pacific Ocean. Don’t get distracted by the breaching whales during the winter months!
The Waikoloa Kings’ Course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and is one of the highest ranked courses in Hawaii. Although it may not offer some of the views the Waikoloa Beach Course offers, it does offer you a great challenge. Each hole tests your golf skills in a unique way. They challenge you to go for an eagle, but if you fall short your score will surely suffer.
The clubhouse is a very nice large building. Over the years it has been used for several different purposes and changed hands of restaurant owners. The restaurants have been known to not only offer nice food and bar options, but also have been a great place to go for different holiday dining options. There is a nice lawn area off of the clubhouse and at times they have held evening luaus there. The pro shop offers a selection of golf items in case you forgot something at home.
Just off to the side of the clubhouse is a nice driving range with the mountains in the background as well as a putting green.
Owners of vacation rentals in Waikoloa Beach Resort can sign up for different programs that give themselves and their guests discounts to both courses. If you are an avid golfer we highly recommend you check on this as it can save you a significant amount of money if you will be golfing a few times.
