Nestled within the Waikoloa Beach Resort are several places to view petroglyphs. There are several unique petroglyphs as well as several lava tube cave shelters.
There is an ancient path that goes through the midst of the resort that you can spend several hours on looking at various sites along the way or you pick a few easily accessible locations to view them. One of the easier locations is near the Waikoloa Beach Resort Queens Shops. If you are walking from the Waikoloa Beach Marriott to the Queens Shops as you approach the shops you will see the trail begin on the right. There are several petroglyphs just off of that trail. The other location where there are many accessible petroglyphs is by the Waikoloa Kings Course Clubhouse.
At many of the petroglyph locations throughout the resort there are informational stands just in front of the petroglyphs explaining what you are looking at. The trail within itself is a site to see. Built in ancient times it extends endlessly from both sides of the Waikoloa Beach Resort.
