Summer is upon us and the bait has been cast to lure men, women and juniors to participate in exciting golf events at the Waikoloa Beach Resort.

Saturday, June 13th, 2009 – Dennis Rose Memorial Tournament (A benefit for Big Island Junior Golf, the St. James Episcopal Church, and a $1000 scholarship to a deserving Big Island junior golfer and high school senior)

Thursday, June 25th, 2009 – Aloha Section PGA Junior Champs Round 1

Friday, June 26th, 2009 – Aloha Section PGA Junior Champs Round 2 (The winners of the 13-18 divisions will qualify to join over 150 of the nation’s top junior golfers in the Junior PGA Champs in Maineville, Ohio.)

Saturday, July 4th, 2009 – U.S. Open Women’s Amateur Qualifier

Saturday, July 18th, 2009 – 24th Annual Dr. Richard Mamiya Golf Tournament (A benefit for the American Heart Association)

A great golf value worth noting is the Waikoloa Kings’ Course Family Golf Days which offers families to play a 9 hole game any day after 3:00pm.  Adults are only $50, while juniors (ages 17 and under) are $25.  The cost includes green fees, cart fees and complimentary top of the line rental clubs for juniors.  Like any awesome deal, this one expires the end of July 2009.

If you are coming to the Big Island to golf and are looking for a place to stay at Waikoloa Beach Resort, Halii Kai is a great option.  It offers a selection of oceanfront condos as well as some buildings overlook the signature hole of the golf course and the lanais of these condos offer a great spot to sit and enjoy watching people play golf.
