In 2019 the County of Hawaii will require all Big Island vacation rental owners to register their vacation rental. This will apply to both conforming and non-conforming vacation rentals. Most resort properties fall under conforming. They will require a registration form to be completed and be accompanied by $500. It is still in the draft staged, but is expected to be completed this month with the registration form being available sometime in April.
